BG/H/W is comprised of hockey players representing Buffalo Grove, Hersey, and Wheeling High schools. Otherwise known as “Stampede.”
Spring Tryouts for all players will be on 3/22 @ West Meadows.
Players will practice every Wednesday @ West Meadows from 4/5-5/17. Practices will consist of skills, small area games, and scrimmaging. Each team will play 8-10 games vs. other area high school teams. Most games will take place at West Meadows on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evenings.
Cost: $495 per skater, $250 per goalie
Every Wednesday (except 7/5) Coach Waters and a local skills coach will be run a clinic that will include skating, shooting, stickhandling, and small area games. These will be located at West Meadows or Sports Complex.
Players will be on the ice twice per week at West Meadows. All players will work on conditioning, skills, positional training, small area games, and scrimmaging. Tryouts will be the week of 8/21.
Total Cost for Summer Skills, August Conditioning, and Tryouts is $395 per skater, goalies are free.
If a skater only chooses August Conditioning/Tryouts, the cost is $250.
3-on-3 hockey increases puck handling, team play, transition from offense to defense / defense to offense, positioning, time on the ice, quicker decision making, more puck touches, plus many more benefits. This league is new this year and is having local high school teams compete against each other in a non-contact 3v3 setting.
All games are at Orbit on Tuesday/Thursday nights between 6pm and 10pm. Teams will have between 7-9 players. Unfortunately, there will likely not be enough room for every player who signs up. Teams will be formed by the hockey director based on who registers.
Cost: $275 per skater, goalies are $50
